Attire Requirements!
Competitors are expected to present themselves in neat, tasteful attire that reflects the spirit of country line dancing.
Acceptable Attire:
* Jeans, western slacks, skirts, or dresses suitable for dancing
* Western shirts, blouses, or tasteful tops
* Cowboy boots or clean dance shoes with non-marking soles
* Belts, belt buckles, hats, and western accessories are permitted
* Clothing should allow for safe and unrestricted movement
Footwear:
* Cowboy boots are encouraged but not required.
* Dance shoes or boots must be clean and in good condition.
* Shoes with excessive tread, cleats, or unsafe heels are prohibited.
* Bare feet, flip-flops, sandals, and open-toed shoes are not permitted.
Appearance:
* Clothing must be clean, well-fitting, and in good taste.
* Hair should be secured if necessary for safety.
* Accessories should not interfere with dancing or distract judges.
Prohibited Attire:
The following are NOT permitted:
* Clothing containing offensive words or graphics
* Excessively revealing clothing
* Costumes intended to distract or create an unfair presentation advantage
* Props (chairs, canes, ropes, signs, etc.) unless specifically approved by the event director
* Glitter, confetti, or any item that may create a safety hazard on the dance floor
Judging Note:
Attire is not judged based on cost or brand. Judges will consider only:
* Overall neatness
* Professional appearance
* Appropriateness for the event
Creativity and personal style are encouraged, but extravagant costumes will not receive additional points.
Event Director’s Note:
The DJ Tina Marie Line Dance Competition celebrates dancers of all experience levels. We encourage competitors to wear attire that makes them feel confident while maintaining a respectful, family-friendly atmosphere. The focus of this competition is dancing, musicality, sportsmanship, and having fun—not expensive costumes.
